Rose of Sharon
Sharon is known for it's beauty, glory, and fruitfulness.
Sharon is figuratively of man's state of being reformed, his fruitfulness, and glory. It is the being formed again, regenerated, restored to original strength, which speaks to me of God's original intents and purposes.....that we would be restored to a place of fellowship without distraction. Also, figuratively, it is about man's eternal state of peace forevermore.
Though Sharon is absolutely wonderful, when she says I am a rose of Sharon.....she is saying that she can accept that she is a lovely addition to many, many lovely additions that make up the beauty and glory of Sharon. She means the same thing when she says that she is a lily of the valleys. just one of the pretty lilies that make up the beauty of the valleys.
The Lord counters that....with this...
" Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens"
