verse 7

7 Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot wash it away.
If one were to give
all the wealth of his house for love,
it would be utterly scorned.

Like Paul aid, "In the view of God's mercy" it is reasonable to lay down our lives. Everything gained or posessed is nothing compared to the excellencies of knowing Christ. Given the choice, Jesus said we will love one and hate the other. God release this kind of fiery love.
